One of King Jesus' central missions is spiritually maturing His church. He invites us onto this mission. In Colossians chapter one, we learned about the tools and techniques used to help one another mature. Paul encouraged us with the amazing results of discipleship. They are worth the work required to see one another mature.
This week, Paul shifts his attention to those who have benefited from the investment and hard work of others and have been discipled to a place of spiritual maturity. His plea to the mature: Continue walking with Christ!
Please take a few minutes to read through this week's text and answer the questions as we prepare our minds for worship.
"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. 8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elementary principles of the world, and not according to Christ."
