Last week, we learned that we don't need to work to find to God or get to God because God already found us and He is living inside of us by the Holy Spirit. When we believed in Christ, the Holy Spirit came to live in us.
This week, we will learn about the big miracle that the God did to our hearts when we believed.
Please take a few minutes to read through this week's texts and answer the questions as we prepare our minds for worship.
"in Christ the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, 10 and you have been filled in Christ, who is the head of all rule and authority.
11 In Christ also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ...
13 you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with Christ"
1) What do we learn about the "circumcision of Christ" in Colossians 2:11?
2) Colossians 2:13 describes the same thing in a simpler way. How does the comparison help us to understand 2:11?
Stephen rebuked the Jews says, “You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of Jesus the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered"
3) How does Stephen's rebuke in Acts 7 describe someone with an "uncircumcised" heart?
4) What would the opposite of an "uncircumcised" heart look like?
