Our King Jesus is the legitimate King over the present creation. In a special way, He is also the legitimate King over His church and He will rule fully in the future. In a monumental demonstration of grace, our amazing King died to rescue us from the penalty and power of sin and to fix our relationship with God.
This week, we see the one simple thing that God expects from us: that we stick with Jesus.
Please take a few minutes to read through this week text and answer the questions as we prepare our minds for worship.
"you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 He has now reconciled in His body of flesh by His death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister."
1) What did Jesus have to do to secure our salvation?
2) What are we to continue in?
3) What are we exhorted to not shift away from?
